In the United States, The Camp Blood Film Festival (Festival) is intended for play by legal residents and legal visitors of the United States. Residency requirements may vary in other countries. Void where prohibited.
The Camp Blood Film Festival Organizers may add to or amend these rules at any time prior to the beginning of the Official Time Period.
Below are the rules that govern the Festival. Be sure to also read the official Filmmaking Rules.
In the United States, the Team Leader must be a legal resident or legal visitor of the United States and the District of Columbia. Outside of the United States, residency requirements may vary. Void where prohibited.
2. To Enter
To register for the Camp Blood Film Festival in the United States, follow the instructions found on www.campbloodfilmfestival.com. Registration is based on a first-come first-served basis and space is limited. Registration is to be completed by the Team Leader only. Once the application is received and confirmed, the Team Leader will receive a link for participants to purchase to tickets from the Organizers. Registration fees are on a per participant basis. Early Bird Registration fees are $200 per person. Early Bird Registration is open from January 20th, 2019 to April 30th, 2019. Regular Entry Registration fees are $235 per person. Regular Registration is open from May 1st, 2019 to July 30th, 2019. Students with a current school ID are eligible for the Student Rate of $150 per person. The Team Registration form and all individual payments must be received prior to the indicated dates in order to be considered for the 2019 Festival. Space at the Venue is limited and therefore Teams are accepted at a first come, first served basis. Once space is filled by Teams that have completed registration and paid in full, Registration will officially close.
3. Official Filmmaking Period
The Camp Blood Film Festival will begin Friday, September 27th at 12PM CST and end on Sunday, September 29th at 6PM. The completed films will be screened at 7PM CST, Sunday, September 29th.
4. Refund Schedule
In the United States, if a participant must withdraw from the Camp Blood Film Festival, refunds will be paid on the following schedule: Notify the Camp Blood Film Festival Organizers of withdrawal in writing more than 30 days before competition, you will be refunded $190; Notify the Camp Blood Film Festival Organizers of withdrawal between 15 and 30 days before the competition, you will be refunded $150; Notify the Camp Blood Film Festival Organizers of withdrawal between 7 and 14 days before competition, you will be refunded $100; No refunds for withdrawal less than 7 days before competition. The refund policy may vary in other countries.
5. Participation of Minors
Participants must be 18 years of age or older. Participants may wish to consider having at least one member of its team be 21 years or older.
6. Team Member Agreement
All Participants will be required to sign the standard Camp Blood Film Festival Participant Agreement. If under the legal age of majority in your state of residence, your parent or legal guardian must sign it on your behalf.
This Agreement includes a standard Photography Release, Festival Rules, and Filmmaking Rules.
7. Production Costs
The following Production Costs are included in the cost of participation for the duration of the Festival; All Meals and Refreshments provided, Makeup Artists and Makeup provided based on availability, Fake Blood supply provided based on availability, Limited Grip and Electric Equipment supply provided based on availability, Behind-the-scenes Photographer provided (one for all teams).
All other costs associated with the production of the Films are solely the responsibility of the Participants.
8. Festival Schedule
Participants must be present at the designated times at the designated events to participate. Participants must check-in with Festival Organizers by 12:30PM on the Friday of the Festival.
9. Basic Requirements of the Festival
Partipants must adhere to the official Camp Blood Film Festival Filmmaking Rules. In addition, at Team Check-in, Participants will receive a Filming Location assignment and be given approximately 52 hours to complete the Film. All Films must be complete by 6:00PM CST on the Sunday of the Festival. See www.campbloodfilmfestival.com for details.
10. Project Terms of Submission
By submitting a Film into the Camp Blood Film Festival, each Team Leader warrants and represents that the Team Leader owns all rights to the Film he/she is entering in this Festival including, without limitation, the video or digital recording, and the performance contained in each Film, with the exception of any assets provided by the Camp Blood Film Festival for use by Participants in connection with this Festival. Each Team Leader further warrants and represents that the Team Leader has obtained permission from each person who appears in the Film to grant the rights to the Parties described in these Official Rules, and will submit copies of such permissions to the Festival Organizers. By submitting an Film, the Team Leader agrees to the Official Rules, and further agrees to indemnify and hold the Camp Blood Film Festival, Festival Organizers and their respective affiliates, officers, directors, agents, co-branders or other partners, and any of their employees (collectively, the Festival Indemnitees), harmless from any and all claims, damages, expenses, costs (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) and liabilities (including settlements), brought or asserted by any third party against any of the Project Indemnitees due to or arising out of the Team’s Film materials in this Festival, or the Team’s conduct during and in connection with this Festival, including but not limited to trademark, copyright, or other intellectual property rights, right of publicity, right of privacy or defamation. Team Lead agrees to release, indemnify and hold harmless Camp Blood Film Festival and the Festival Organizers from any and all claims that any advertising, presentation, web content or any other material subsequently produced, presented, and/or prepared by or on behalf of Camp Blood Film Festival or the Festival Organizers infringes on the rights of Team’s work as contained in any Film.
11. Designated Team Leader
If any group of individuals elects to collaborate on an Film, they are required to designate one (1) person as the agent of the group to enter the Camp Blood Film Festival, agree to these Official Rules, sign and have all Team Members sign, the Team Member’s Agreement and accept any awards on behalf of the group. Neither Camp Blood Film Festival nor any of the Festival Organizers are liable for any disputes between collaborators arising out of or related to the Festival.
All Award Winners for the Camp Blood Film Festival are voted upon by the Audience of the Festival Screening on the Sunday of the Festival. Any audience members in attendance, including Festival Organizers, may vote for all or none of the Audience Award Categories including:
- Best Death
- Best Scream
- Best Weapon
- Audience Choice: Best Film
Team Leads and Participants may vote for the first three Awards, though they may not vote for the Audience Choice: Best Film Award. Runner Ups in each category may be announced at the Screening and on the Website, but will not receive an Award.
The Films of the winners of each category may be featured at www.campbloodfilmfestival.com.
13. General Conditions
By participating, Participants agree to these Official Rules which are final and binding in all respects. The Camp Blood Film Festival is governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, USA, and all claims must be resolved in the State of Wisconsin courts or the Federal courts located in the District of Columbia.
14. Limitations of Liability and Release
No liability or responsibility is assumed by Camp Blood Film Festival or Festival Organizers resulting from any user’s participation in or attempt to participate in the Camp Blood Film Festival or ability or inability to upload or download any information in connection with participating in the Festival. No responsibility or liability is assumed by the Camp Blood Film Festival or Festival Organizers for technical problems or technical malfunction arising in connection with any of the following occurrences which may affect the operation of the Film: hardware or software errors; faulty computer, telephone, cable, satellite, network, electronic, wireless or Internet connectivity or other online communication problems; errors or limitations of any Internet service providers, servers, hosts or providers; garbled, jumbled or faulty data transmissions; failure of any e-mail transmissions to be sent or received; lost, late, delayed or intercepted e-mail transmissions; inaccessibility of the Web Site in whole or in part for any reason; traffic congestion on the Internet or the Web Site; unauthorized human or non-human intervention of the operation of the Festival, including without limitation, unauthorized tampering, hacking, theft, virus, bugs, worms; or destruction of any aspect of the Festival, or loss, miscount, misdirection, inaccessibility or unavailability of an email account used in connection with the Festival. Camp Blood Film Festival or Festival Organizers are not responsible for any typographical errors in the announcement of prizes or these Official Rules, or any inaccurate or incorrect data contained on the Web Site or social media sites maintained by the Camp Blood Film Festival. Use of Web Site and the Camp Blood Film Festival’s social media sites is at user’s own risk. Camp Blood Film Festival or Festival Organizers are not responsible for any personal injury or property damage or losses of any kind which may be sustained to user’s or any other person’s computer equipment resulting from participation in the Festival, use of the Web Site or the download of any information from the Web Site. By participating in the Festival, Participant agrees to release, indemnify and hold the Camp Blood Film Festival and Festival Organizers harmless from any and all claims, damages or liabilities arising from or relating to such Participant’s participation in the Festival.
Completed Films will be the intellectual property of the Participants. The Organizers will contact the Participants regarding any use of the Films.
